I have been clearing out my wardrobe. It's a long lonely haul. So far I've been stumped by two things:
1. That despite having filled three enormous bag with years' worth of frocks, blouses I never wear and trousers that make me like a barrell, I seem to have less room in my cupboards than when I started.
2. I don't think I need to buy another thing ever again.
Coming from a fellow hoarder, you have my sympathy, especially since your excess items are all carefully chosen treasures, while mine is just stuff. Sorry about my late responses but I've been laid flat for a week with a virus kindly handed to me by the aforesaid observant husband. A shame his observational powers don't extend to viral particles. Would have been well worth avoiding this one.
ReplyDeleteBy the way please forgive the off-topic but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Chapter One - Necklace story. How fabulous. You did an incredible job creating so much context, if that's the right word, for the next person to work with. And it was so 'you'. Just wished you'd continued through with the rest of the chapters (you don't happen to have a Baxter version of the rest of the 'book' stashed away under your bed do you?)
Hello Jen - sorry to hear you've been unwell. I hope you're feeling better. So glad you liked the story - thank you so much for taking the time to read it! I would have loved to have written the whole thing but alas, only got the first chapter. Tell you what though, if I ever have a novel published you'll get the first copy off the press in the mail immediately!
